These lock nuts are intended to be used with EMC cable glands only. These have unique notches on their corners during manufacturing. The notches provide great electrical contact with the exposed metal surface of the body when the gland is tightened against it, chipping the paint and serving as the cable’s grounding surface. They come in PG, Metric, and NPT Thread varieties.
